| TransTemp 500, 700, 1000
These three sensor families offer a variety of options to measure most common materials in general purpose applications.
Standard Features:
-
A wide selection of temperature ranges and operating wavelengths
-
Infrared filtering for glass, plastic and flame insensitivity
-
Line of Site Alignment
-
D/7, D/15, and D/20 optics (all models)
-
Two-Wire 4-20mA output
-
Compact designs with a rugged NEMA 4 / IP65 enclosures
-
A wide selection of accessories
Unique Features:
500 Series
- Compact, self contained sensor with a fixed mounting bracket and a built in emissivity adjustment.
700 Series
- Modular design with miniature sensing head and a remote circuit board. Includes built in adjustments for emissivity, response time, and peak hold.
1000 Series
– Rugged, self contained sensor with built LCD temperature display and an adjustable swivel mounting bracket. Includes built in adjustment for response time or peak hold.
For most applications, the selection of the sensor is based on the temperature range and the optics that meet the requirements of the application. However, some applications require careful selection of the sensor’s operating wavelength in order to obtain accurate measurements. Frequently, the selection of a
specific narrow band filter
will result in a narrower temperature range for the sensor, but the benefit can be dramatic improvements in the accuracy and repeatability of temperature measurements. Thoughtful wavelength selection is important in the following applications:
-
visually transparent materials, like glass or plastics
-
the ability to measure through flames
-
the ability to minimize the interference of water vapor or background reflections
