Flares — Flame Intensity Monitor
Williamson Wavelength Technologies
Aluminum is a non-greybody material that has complex emissivity characteristics that vary with alloy, surface roughness and oxidation, making it a particularly difficult material to measure with ordinary infrared pyrometers. Traditional single-wavelength and ratio temperature sensors are not able to accurately measure aluminum. Williamson’s multi-wavelength pyrometer uses application specific algorithms to compensate for these unique emissivity characteristics of aluminum. These algorithms allow the Williamson multi-wavelength pyrometers to achieve accurate and repeatable temperature measurements at multiple points during the aluminum extrusion process.
Flame Intensity Monitoring
Application Overview
Williamson Flame Intensity Monitors (FI) are the single-wavelength sensors of choice for a variety of flare applications where the more sophisticated dual-wavelength flare products are not appropriate or are not required. Products specifically designated for flame intensity monitoring applications include:
- Pilot Monitoring of Hydrogen, Ammonia or CO Flames
- Pilot Monitoring of Ground Flares and Landfill Flares
- Flame Intensity Monitoring
Williamson Wavelength Advantage
The WIlliamson Flame Intensity Monitro utilizes single-wavelength technology and thoughtful wavelength selection to sense the presence and intensity of flames of all types. The FI class sensors are ideal when viewing hydrogen, ammonio, CO and other flames and is also commonly used as pilot monitor for ground flares and land fill flares.
